Dennis' sister came to visit for a couple weeks so we decided to go camping over Father's Day weekend. When we finally found a spot to camp it was close to midnight, raining and the wind was blowing. Who would have known it was going to be raining? After about an hour or so we got the tents put up and it finally stopped raining and the wind stopped blowing. The poor guys where soaking wet.
The next morning we woke to the wind blowing like crazy. It was a little miserable but we had a lot of fun. Damien and Marcus had a great time shooting the BB guns.
When it was time to start gathering wood Jadyn worked really hard and was pulling up the biggest branches he could find.
Damien and Marcus tried to out do him and was trying to haul a "tree" up to the camp fire.
They gave up and decided that it would be easier to just chop it up.
While the kids were off playing hard and getting dirty.
I found the dad's taking a nap.
The wind died down just in time to build a campfire, make dinner and roast giant marshmallows and make S'Mores
(Kylie's double fisting it. Marshmallows in one hand, s'more in the other)
BIG MISTAKE. Don't ever buy giant marshmallows for kids to roast. It makes a big mess.
Even though the weather was horrible (and our tent ripped) we had a good time. The girls were completely exhausted and quickly fell a sleep in the car on the way home.
